I recently heard a reality show finalist say that singing is what he was born to do, he just never knew how to get there. That is exactly how I feel about Arbonne. Arbonne has helped me grasp my dreams. I have dreamed about owning my time, being home with my children, inspiring others with meaningful opportunities, taking vacations and giving abundantly to others. I just never knew how to get there … until Arbonne. Now I am living out my dreams. My life is exciting and so blessed. Not only do I get to make an income that I never dreamed of making, while having the time to do what I want to do, I get to help others do the same. That is my favorite thing about this business. I get to teach and train others to have this same freedom.
When I started my business in February of 2004, I spent several days reading other Eye on Arbonne stories. I looked for anything in the stories that would confirm my notion that you had to have certain qualities in order to get to the VP level. I thought that perhaps you had to be a great salesperson, attractive, have many contacts or get really lucky. Though, as I read story after story, I discovered none of those things were correct. The only common denominator, which all the successful Consultants shared, was a deep passion and an unshakable persistence. I decided that night that nothing was going to hold me back. With phenomenal products and a ripe opportunity, Arbonne was the right company at the right time. I told my husband that people were going to buy this product and build a business with someone, so it may as well be with me. I rolled up my sleeves and set to work.
In my previous job, I saw many families in need around me. I saw kids that had nothing except for the shirts on their backs and some ripped tennis shoes at best. Some of the kids slept in beds that rocked unsteadily on their trailer floor because the floors were rotted. They lived a life without cars, phones or air-conditioning. And more than having no material things, many of them had no hope. I could not stand to walk away from them and go on with my “little life.” I promised many of those kids that there would come a day when I would come back and give something more to them. I told them that someday soon I would drive up to their house in a white Mercedes-Benz, which would symbolize that I had accomplished my goal, and we would go celebrate. That day came and spent the day with several families going shopping, out to eat and talking about their dreams. One of the boys looked at me and told me this was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for him. One day, after speaking to a 15-year-old boy about his life, I told him, “I really care about you, bud, and I love you.” He said, “I know you do, Miranda. You are the only one who ever has.” I could hardly fathom the impact that my simple gestures of kindness had on one boy’s heart. I tell that story to illustrate how Arbonne enabled me to have the potential for more time and money to reach out to others. I am so thankful I can be a beacon of hope in the lives of others. That is what true purpose is all about.
This business would not be as fun or worthwhile if it were only about me. I want this journey and all it brings to be about what God will do through me with the blessings He has given my family. Arbonne is an opportunity to first change who you are on the inside. You must adapt an attitude of abundance even before you feel that way. One of the keys to the business is that you have to become a better you in order to succeed. This business has challenged me to look at my future as something that can be shaped by the decisions I make, and not as something that I am just aimlessly drifting into. I have learned that life and success are not about luck, they are about deliberate choices and actions. So many people out there allow someone else to hold the pen or author the book of their life. I have been able to take that pen and compose the story of my life on purpose!
At church, when my 3-year-old son was asked what his mommy was good at, he replied, “Cooking and Arbonne.” I am not so sure about the cooking part, but even my little son sees me live my life with purpose, passion and persistence. My prayer is that others will see the opportunities before them and be inspired to be more, do more and give more in their life. Is it not amazing how one life can affect so many others? We are all here to make a difference. I have known that there is more to life, but now I know one way to achieve it. And although there have been times on my Arbonne journey where I have had to struggle with my own doubts and fears, I can tell you that I have loved every moment of the experience. Only through constant trials does one emerge stronger. So I learned to press on toward my goals, and develop an unflagging determination and persistence to get to my dream of living an abundant life. It has all been worth it.
I feel so blessed to have Arbonne in my life. It is a privilege to lead my wonderful team and serve alongside them. I am in a humble place, ecstatic to see what the future holds, while continuing to live life to the fullest in the present day. So many have gone before me and will come after me and I am happy I have had the distinct honor of meeting and getting to know some of the best along the way. I owe many of them my deep appreciation.
To my upline friends, ENVPs, Cecilia Stoll and Donna Kopepasah: Thank you for living your life with an abundant mindset and for modeling humility. You both are gracious givers.
To Arbonne: As a company you are simply the best. Thanks for doing it right.
To my Arbonne team: Where do I start? The most special thing about this business is that I did not even know most of you before I started this journey. By simply sharing this business without forcing the issue, I let others decide if they truly wanted to be a part of this. I love that this is a sorting business and not a convincing one.
To ENVP Roxanne Melker and her incredible team, especially, NVP Ashley Carpenter, ERVP Jaime Dadd, RVP Jessica Thompson, ERVP Kat Armstrong, RVP Sally Collier, RVP Lori McClain and RVP Noemi Obenhous: You all are wonderful women and I love being around all of you. Thank you for living your life with such servant’s hearts.
To future NVP, RVP Courtney Hamilton and her amazing team: I dare not list everyone because your team is growing so quickly. I love your friendship and sincere heart. You are a tireless worker and a passionate leader.
To my Area Managers: I want to say something special to each one of you, but space is limited. So, I will just say, thank you and congratulations. I am so proud of your tenacity and leadership.
To all of the District Managers and Consultants: You are appreciated and loved. Do the activity consistently and grow daily. You will get there.
To my wonderful family: I love you all very much. Thank you, mom and dad, for teaching me so much. You have always been my biggest fans. To my sister-in-law, Amy Stacy: Thank you for introducing me to the gift of Arbonne. You are such a gracious person.
Mom, I am so glad that you are now on this journey with me. The view from the top will be so much more beautiful with you by my side.
To my loving husband: You are my rock. You have been a success in all you do — as a husband, daddy and coach. Our life is so blessed. To my kids: You are my angels from heaven above, sent to your mommy with love!
I want to thank God for giving me a blessed life.
I look back just two short years ago and think to myself, “What if I hadn’t risked and decided to do Arbonne. Where would I be?” Thank goodness I do not have to wonder. I pushed through fear and pressed on toward what was ahead for me. And I am so glad that I did.
